Tool are one of the few remaining holdouts as more and more artist catalogs continue to hit digital music streaming platforms. There's been longstanding rumors that the group would finally upload their music to streaming services, and now there's an official profile on both Spotify and Apple Music, suggesting that the day is drawing near.

While there's still no Tool music available on Spotify, there's a photo of the group, a biography under the "About" tab and the "Related Artist" section reveals an expected crop of tangential artists like A Perfect Circle, Deftones, Alice in Chains, Faith No More, Puscifer, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, The Mars Volta and others.

The release of Tool's long-awaited new album (today, May 2, actually marks 13 full years since their last album, 10,000 Days, came out) seems imminent, although the biography makes no mention of new material, stopping the narrative at 2006.

Don't be fooled by the songs on Tool's Apple Music profile. The bio is right, but those definitely aren't new Tool jams.

In January, Maynard James Keenan deferred blame when a fan complained about Tool's music not being accessible in digital formats.

With another season of festival headliner appearances coming up, guitarist Adam Jones recently shared a clip of a new guitar riff, one that could possibly be part of a new Tool song.
