Are These Hot Blonde Twins The Danica Patricks of Dog Racing?
The Iditarod Trail may not ring a bell for every American, but in Alaska, the thousand-plus mile stretch is the route for the annual Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race – one of the biggest sporting events in the icy state. And sisters Anna and Kristy Berington (twins!) are proving to everyone the grueling dog sled race isn’t just a man’s game.
Though Kristy Berington has participated in the race before, this year will younger sis (by a few minutes) Anna’s first, earning the Wisconsin natives the distinct recognition of being the first twin sisters to do the Iditarod.
The young blondes, as the story usually goes, were initially dismissed by their male counterparts as just pretty faces but when Kristy finished 39th in the 2010 Iditarod, 29th in 2011 and won humanitarian awards for best dog care, the men had to acknowledge her mushing skills weren’t to be taken lightly. These babes can moosh. Mush? Moosh? We’ll go with mush.
With this year’s race under way, the Berington sisters have already started to get a lot of attention. It got our attention, we didn’t even know what an Iditarod was or the fact that there is a state called Alaska.
