You can call it "Tumblegeddon" but it was no joke last night as SR-240 was shut down for 10 hours due to massive wind and blowing tumbleweeds.

The incident occurred yesterday on State Route 240 after a Semi-Truck got stuck in a flurry of tumbleweeds. It caused the road to be shut down in both directions as DOT crews worked to remove stuck tumbleweeds and rescue vehicles trapped in the onslaught.

Winds reached 30-50 miles per hour and caused several vehicles to be encased in giant tumbleweeds, even a Semi-Truck couldn't get through the tumbleweeds. It took 10 hours to get the road back open. A big thank you to the DOT workers for coming to the rescue of the holiday travelers in need.
