FELONY ASSAULT-VEHICLE PURSUIT ARREST

Tuesday morning deputies identified Timothy Velasquez, 44 years old, as the suspect in a felony assault that occurred south of Finley. We had the license plate of his vehicle, a 2016 Chrysler 300.
At around 9:15 this evening deputies located the car on Interstate 82 in the Kennewick area. Velasquez failed to stop and led deputies on a pursuit down Clearwater, CCB, and 10th Avenue. Deputies and Kennewick PD successfully deployed spike strips causing the tires to deflate. Velasquez drove on the rims a short time before losing control at the intersection of 10th and SR 395. The vehicle became disabled after slamming into the curb and Velasquez was arrested. We were assisted by Kennewick PD and Richland PD. Velasquez was booked for Felony Assault, Eluding Police, and drug charges.
