Was Tom Brady Hiding In California Filming Popular TV Show?

There have been a ton of crazy theories about where Tom Brady was after not showing up to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp. Theories range from marriage problems with his wife Gisele to just getting away because he wants too. None of those theories seemed likely to me until I heard the latest theory today.

Was Tom Brady really filming the Masked Singer in California and that is the real reason why he is missing during training camp?

The theory started on reddit and grew from there. After doing some research, this could be the most logical option. Here is what I found.

The Evidence:

After Brady did not show to camp, the coach addressed the media and said it was pre-arranged. They said he "will be away from the team attending to a personal matter until after an Aug. 20 preseason game."

The coach went on to say " "We allotted this time because he wanted to get chemistry with the guys through the two weeks of training camp, knowing he wasn't going to play the first two games. ... We trust him. We talked about it. It was scheduled way before training camp and he will not be here until after Tennessee."

Then last Thursday the coach spoke about Tom Brady again.

"We’ll see. We’ll talk about it next week. I’m not concerned about it right now. We’re trying to practice against Tennessee and play a game. I said sometime after Tennessee. There’s no definitive date for me. We’ll keep in touch and find out.”

Why The Masked Singer Show?

There are multiple players close to Tom Brady that have already been on the show. Both receiver Antonio Brown and Brady's best pal Rob Gronkowski have starred on the show.

Also, we know the show was filmed from July until August 20th because of the casting site responsible for getting the audience. Their website shows the last date was August 20th which is the planned finale date. Crazy how those two dates match up.

More Evidence:

Tom also just signed a big contract with Fox to broadcast for them after he retires. Just another obvious tie between Tom Brady and the show.

So is it true?

The pictures above show Tom at training camp on July 27th, the first day of filming the show. He has not showed up since then, but the finale is literally tomorrow. I honestly don't know if it's true, but there is a lot of evidence to point that he is on the show.

I guess we will find out when Season 8 premieres on Fox in September.
