Don’t Forget Your Fork, Hot Sauce, & Other Fast Food Essentials in 2022 in Washington
You'll have a few things you need to remember when dining out in Washington.
Right from the first day of 2022, Washington residents will have to ask for certain items when they go out to eat. Here's what you'll need to ask for under the new single-use utensil law in Washington.
Single-use utensils.
It's hard to imagine getting a salad without a plastic fork, but you'll have to put in a special request for your leaf-puncturing device.
Condiment/sauce packets.
People who don't get hot sauce packets with their Taco Bell are weird. We're all at risk of being weird if we forget to ask for our packets in 2022. Ketchup, mustard, and fry sauce won't be a given either.
Disposable chopsticks are on the list, too.
The good thing here is that I'm really good at eating sushi with my fingers while making a minimal mess.
Lids for cold drinks.
Could you imagine not having a lid for your soda? One quick stop for a dog in the street and you're wearing your Diet Coke. Please, please don't forget your lid so you don't lose your lid.
Straws, stirrers, cool umbrella sticks.
Straws were one of the first single-use items to get phased out in Washington. Now you can include stirrers, various garnish items, and those nifty umbrellas. Does this include the sword toothpicks?
The new law takes effect on January 1, 2022.
