Washington Woman Makes History on First Day in Congress

Pramila Jayapal has become the first Indian-American Congresswoman for the United States.

She has replaced U.S. Rep. Jim McDermott who had served since 1988.

Jayapal beat Brady Walkinshaw for the 7th District seat and won with 57 percent of the vote.
