Despite their string of misses in recent years, Metallica have been all business regarding Hardwired... to Self-Destruct. Literally. As they've been debuting new tracks live around the world, they've quickly released pro-shot footage of each performance, making fan-filmed videos from these shows more or less obsolete or at least unfavorable. It's the same case for "Confusion," the Hardwired track which was played live for the first time in Beijing, China.

In the video above, the band wastes no time getting into the song, opening with some controlled feedback before Lars Ulrich's eight count cues in the rest of the band. The ominous lead set against Ulrich's marching snare hits paints a picture of doom, which becomes increasingly vivid as James Hetfield's war-torn lyrics are delivered.

During their Beijing concert, Metallica also reprised their "One" performance from the 56th Grammy Awards, inviting Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang to join them onstage.

Metallica will be playing this year's Grammy Awards as well, which air Feb. 12 on CBS. The band commented, “We have something very unique and special planned for this celebratory night," and have since revealed plans to play at the Hollywood Palladium after their Grammy appearance. The thrash vets are also in contention for Best Rock Song for the punishing and concise "Hardwired."

As it stands as of press time, this show and a headlining spot at Rock on the Range are the only U.S. dates Metallica have booked for their 'WorldWired' tour. They've been gradually announcing more dates around the globe, but will keep it to around 50 shows in 2017 as Hetfield said his body is unable to handle more extensive touring.
