Mercedes Benz recently brought together Formula 1™ legend David Coulthard and pro-golfer Jake Shepherd to try and do the impossible - Hit a golf ball with a driver and have it "caught" by a moving car.

Simply called 'The Catch', watch this Guinness World Record in action. The most impressive part, it was accomplished on only the second try of the day.

The 571-horsepower SLS AMG Roadster, traveling at 120 mph, caught the ball around 300 yards away from where it was hit. The speed of the golf ball was clocked at up to 178 mph.

After completing the stunt, Coulthard said:

This world record attempt is definitely one of the most unusual things I’ve ever been asked to do with a car. Jake Shepherd was great to work with and the performance of the SLS AMG Roadster made driving to catch a mid-air golf ball even more exciting. I am honored to have received the Guinness World Record for the furthest golf shot caught in a car.
