The first unsolicited Jimmy Kimmel Live! salvo was fired on ABC late night TV right after the NCAA Men's College Basketball Tournament brackets were announced and Gonzaga picked up a number one seed:

“I know this might be controversial, but here it is: I don’t believe Gonzaga exists. I’ve never heard the word Gonzaga outside of college basketball. I don’t know where it is. I don’t know anyone who went there. I don’t even know anyone who knows anyone who went there. Go on YouTube and search Gonzaga, all you will get are basketball videos, nothing else ... Gonzaga is the ‘I have a girlfriend in Canada’ of colleges.”

Next, after an over the top response on any/every social media platform for all things Spokane, including but not limited to: John Stockton, Bing Crosby, House Speaker Tom Foley etc., etc. ... Kimmel doubles down (and then some) for a full seven minutes:

That kind of free advertising has got to be worth millions.

Gonzaga next plays Florida State and the Zags are looking for revenge as the Seminoles knocked them out in the round of 16 in 2018. And for the sake of keeping the Kimmel run going, the Sweet Sixteen for the Zags (who Kimmel picked by the way to win it all) will be contested in Anaheim....about 30 miles from where he tapes his show.

Let the fun continue.
