This year's National Toy Hall of Fame 12 finalists list includes Uno, the Magic 8-Ball, American Girl Dolls, the Sledchalk, "Chutes and Ladders,"  He-Man Masters of the Universe action figures, pinball, Tic-Tac-Toe, Tickle Me Elmo, Electric Football, and the Fisher-Price Corn Popper.

The Corn Popper is that little dome thing kids push around like a stroller, with balls inside that pop around when the wheels turn. I remember thinking the kids are going to LOVE vacuuming when they get older! Not even!

Uno cards and the Magic 8-Ball were nominated last year but didn't make it in, and it's a pretty strong field this year so it might be tough for them again.

The three toys that make it in will be announced on November 8th.  Last year's inductees were "Clue", the Wiffle Ball, and the paper airplane.

Three of the finalists will be inducted in November at The Strong in Rochester, New York.

The Strong is a highly interactive museum devoted to the history and exploration of play—it is the nation’s museum of play.

The Strong houses the world’s largest and most comprehensive collection of historical materials related to play and is home to the International Center for the History of Electronic Games, the National Toy Hall of Fame, the World Video Game Hall of Fame, the Brian Sutton-Smith Library and Archives of Play, the Woodbury School, and the American Journal of Play.
