Anthrax Singer Joey Belladonna Nails ‘National Anthem’ at Chicago Bulls Game
There's no denying the power of Anthrax singer Joey Belladonna's voice, but how would he handle the American standard, 'The National Anthem?' Audiences found out Friday night (April 5) as Belladonna walked out to center court at the Chicago Bulls-Orlando Magic game at Chicago's United Center to open the night's pre-game festivities.
Belladonna's bandmate, guitarist Scott Ian, was also in attendance at the game, shooting footage of the performance from the crowd for posterity. The clip, seen below, shows the vocalist hitting all the high parts and holding certain notes just like he's done on a regular basis with Anthrax, much to the delight of the cheering crowd.
Ian himself also gave his stamp of approval along with the audience. After hearing the final cheers, the guitarist turned the camera around on himself to declare, "Nailed it!," giving the first official review of Belladonna's performance.
Belladonna, Ian and the rest of Anthrax are currently on the road as part of the Metal Alliance tour. To see the remaining dates on the run, click here.
