Bluewood’s Annual Spring Happening

As summer gets closer, the ski and snowboard season starts to fade away. There is still time to get a few days in up at the mountain and this Saturday is a perfect time to get up to Bluewood. Not only is it one of the final days to hit the slopes this year, but there will be A TON of events all day long for you and your friends. From the big air competition to the garbage bag race, it's definitely going to be a BASH this year!

BASH T-Shirts: 8am - Until They Last in The Pub

Be sure to pick up your complimentary BASH t-shirt! Must present your valid season pass or valid lift ticket for the day. Limit is 1 t shirt per person. You can not pick up for your family and friends. Supplies are limited and when they are gone...that's it! So, get there early!! (yes, kids can come into the Pub for the t-shirt pick up. The Pub is not open for business on BASH Day. )

Face painting: 10am-2pm

Especially for the kids...or the kid at heart. Our employees will be offering complimentary face painitng in the lodge on BASH day!

Kids sledding area - 10am-2pm

Kids sledding area is open all day for the kiddos to have some fun. Please note: the sledding area can be closed at at time during the day if deemed necessary by Ski Patrol or Resort Management.

Garbage Bag Race - 10am

This event is open to all ages! Grab a garbage bag, get in it and make your way to the finish line! Fastest one down...wins! Age divisions are ages 6 and under, 8-12, 13-16 and 18+. All participants receive a prize, plus winner from each age category. Sign up at the Event Registration at the Info Desk on BASH DAY. All children under the age of 18 must have a parent complete the event registration release.

Beers & Food - 11am-4pm

Join us in our lower beer garden for some good brew and good friends. We will be grilling out on the deck too! Featuring Hamburgers, Ribs, BBQ Chicken, Brats and Jambalya! Make sure to kiss the cook---our hard working maintenance crew will be heading up the grill section!

Fire Hose Race -11am

Get your group of 4 people together and get ready for some fun! It's simple...everyone holds onto the firehose as you make it around our pre-set gates! Everyone must keep ahold of the hose and cross the finish line in order for the clock to stop! Get ready for some fast turns and lots of fun! Course to be set up coming out of North Bowl! Sign up at the Event Registration at the Info Desk on BASH DAY. All children under the age of 18 must have a parent complete the event registration release. Sponsored by Chief Springs Fire & Iron Brew Pub. Prizes to the fastest team.

Big Air Competition - 12:30pm

This jam style event is the place to be! Are you participating or hanging on the side lines...this is an event you don't want to miss! Practice is from 11:30am-12:30pm and the competition begins at 12:30pm. This is a Jam Style Format - which means you are hiking the course. You can get in as many jumps as you can handle. Helmets are required. Sign up at the Event Registration at the Info Desk on BASH DAY. All children under the age of 18 must have a parent complete the event registration release. Prizes being given away! Sponsored by: Sporthaus, Dusty's, Smith, Rome, Dakine, NW Crew, Greenies, Giro, 4FRNT, neff and more!

Bikini Race - 2pm --$$$ CASH $$$ to the winners!

This brand new event is sure to be a crowd favorite! Speed and style is what will win you points with the judges in this event. Located in the base area, in our pre-set course. Make it through our SNOW OBSTACLE COURSE with the fastest time and flair and you win! 1st place = $100 CASH, 2nd place = $50 CASH and 3rd place = $25 CASH! Open to the ladies only, ages 18+. Must wear ski or snowboard boots and a bikini. Keep the bikini family friendly...no thongs, etc. Sign up at the Event Registration at the Info Desk on BASH DAY.

Pond Skimming - 3pm

You are either skimming or swimming! Make it across our pit of slosh...and you advance to the next round. Must be skiing or snowboarding! The last man or woman standing is the winner!! Sign up at the Event Registration at the Info Desk on BASH DAY. All children under the age of 18 must have a parent complete the event registration release. You are going to get wet! We advise brining an extra change of clothes if you are going to participate in this event. No ski or snowboard rental equipment is allowed in our pond skimming contest. We reserve the right to limit registration at any time. Sign up at the Event Registration at the Info Desk on BASH DAY. All children under the age of 18 must have a parent complete the event registration release.

Polar Jump - 3:45pm

Once the pond skimming is complete---we open it up for our Polar Jump! Limited to the first 30 people that sign up. All you gotta do, is jump into the pit and grab a duck! Most ducks are winners and you could get some great prizes courtesy of Bluewood and our sponsors! No diving into pit. This will earn you immediate DQ from the Polar Jump. After-BASH Party - Thresher's Bar & Grill in downtown Dayton

Let the good times keep on rolling....at Thresher's in Dayton. Featuring a great menu, several beers and a full bar! Appetizer and drink specials! Plus, show your valid season pass or BASH lift ticket to receive a 10% discount! Be prepared to enjoy the night, as the band Shaniko begins at 9pm!
