COVID Deaths Increase in Region, All Elderly Persons — UPDATE

Although the overall cases of COVID-19 have taken a little jump in Benton-Franklin Counties, and five new deaths, the vast majority have all been elderly. Many of them related to assisted and nursing care individuals.

The Benton Franklin Health District now says there are 283 cases in Benton, including probables, Franklin County with a combined 125.  Of those, 159 of the cases either live in or work in some sort of assisted or nursing care senior facility.

93 other cases (combined confirmed and probable) are healthcare workers.

Of the five new deaths reported, 1 Benton man in his 60's, one in his 80's one in their 90's, and two women in their 90's--both in Benton County.
