If crews can get through Tuesday night, the Juniper fire near Bickleton should be mostly taken care of this week.

The fire, which began July 20, has burned about 253 acres but did consume a wind turbine. Video of this fire and event was shared on the Facebook Page "Taking Back our Little town of Milton Freewater."

Fire crews say the fire is mostly burning in the Pine Creek Area south of Bickleton. Some of the 201 crew working the blaze may be released to allow them to get some rest, but strike teams will be standing by due to forecasted high winds, thunder and lightning and gusty winds this afternoon and Tuesday night in the area.
This video, captured by Kate Watson and shared with the Oregonian Newspaper on YouTube, shows the wind turbine that caught fire. Shortly afterwards, two of the massive propellers broke off due to heat and damage, and crashed to the ground.
