Fred Meyer will offer the COVID-19 vaccine once it becomes available to the general population.

Fred Meyer in a press release announced that they'll be a part of the Federal Government's roll-out plan to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes readily available to the general public. Fred Meyer has more than 133 locations nationwide

The statement from Fred Meyer reads like this:

“At Fred Meyer, we are committed to helping people live healthier lives. We have been diligent to do our part in the community to stop the spread of the virus,” said Abdi Osman, Director of Pharmacy, Health and Wellness at Fred Meyer. “Affordable antibody testing is now available at all Fred Meyer pharmacies, and our team of healthcare professionals are actively preparing for the authorization of the COVID-19 vaccine. Fred Meyer stands with you to keep the Pacific Northwest and the surrounding communities healthy and safe.”

The first set of vaccines will go to the most at risk according to a statement released by Kadlec Hospital's Director of Public Relations Emily Volland:

Kadlec and its Providence partners have been working with local, state, and federal public health authorities to help ensure a smooth rollout of the vaccine. Our team has been meeting regularly to prepare for the arrival of the vaccine. As part of that planning, we have put strategies in place to receive and distribute the vaccine, which includes safe and appropriate measures for storage, including refrigeration.

In keeping with recommendations from the CDC, we will offer first access to those at the highest risk of exposure based on their role and where they work. We are optimistic that all caregivers will eventually have access to the vaccine, although we don’t expect to receive enough initially for our more than 3,700 employees.

At the request of the Washington Department of Health, we are unable to identify more detailed information on dates and locations of deliveries.

We will continue to share information as it becomes available.

Both organizations and several others are working fast to make sure when vaccines do become available, they have a plan to distribute the vaccine to us in the Tri-Cities.

There is no word yet when the COVID-19 vaccine will be available to all of us here in Washington State.
