Happy Birthday To Derek Riggs, Artist For Iron Maiden

Derek  Riggs is on of the most talented artist on the planet. I have about 20 friends that have his art work as tattoos on them. He is the amazing creator of 'Eddie' from Iron Maiden. My 2nd favorite band in the world!

Derek Riggs created Iron Maidens' Mascot 'Eddie' when they first started using him. 'Eddie's'  name wasn't always 'Eddie'. Riggs' first art work of Eddie was originally named "Electric Matthew Says Hello," and was actually painted for a punk cover but I am not sure of who the band was.  It was then that Iron Maidens management saw Derek's work and wanted him for ever. Well the rest is history.

Derek's work now is legend and for one of the greatest heavy metal rock bands of the world.
