The wind pattern is changing from easterly to westerly today and will continue through the weekend. This will bring more smoke and haze into our region. In response to this change, the Washington State Department of Ecology has issued an Air Quality Alert until 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 14th.

Smoke from wildfires in Washington, Oregon and California will create unhealthy air for sensitive groups. Everyone should limit time spent outdoors, avoid strenuous activities (like jogging or biking) and remain indoors if possible. Smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases and increase other serious health issues.

Thankfully, winds will be light, so we won't have the heavy dust.
