The Whatcom County Sheriff's Department (Bellingham) and other search crews are asking other hikers to keep their eyes open, as they also search for a long-overdue hiker.

The Man Planned to Be Out Perhaps Ten Days, but Still Long Overdue

The WCSO says 55-year-old Steven Dorsett was last seen near the Canyon Creek Trailhead, in a very remote area, about 12 miles south of the Canadian border, and east of Mount Shuksan.  His location was not far from the Ross Lake Recreation area.  The sighting was June 24.

Despite His Long Trip, He is Still Long Overdue

However, based on his apparent ten-day itinerary, he is going on six days overdue. Some areas the WCSO is focusing on include:

"Harts Pass

Pasayten Trail
Big Craggy
Pacific Crest Trail"
Officials said his vehicle was found at a trailhead, but did not specifically say if it was the Canyon Creek Area.  The WCSO says anyone who may see him, call 9-1-1.
