Washington & Oregon Among Top 5 States Hyped For Dune!
Dune is one of those sci-fi series I have had difficulty getting into. At least I know I’m not the only one. I’ve only been able to make it through half of the 6 different books (I think. It’s been years since I tried to read the works of Frank Herbert).
The original 1984 film with Yakima, Washington’s own Kyle MacLachlan (see below), is a masterpiece by some, but for 3-year-old me at the time of its release, I was confused and bored. And even decades later, the film is slow and hard to follow (at least to me).
The reboot, Dune: Part One, was a nice shining light, like a speck of spice in a sea of sand for me during the pandemic. It was one of the films that Warner Bros. released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max.
I remember waking up at 5 am one Saturday; my wife was still asleep. I grabbed a blanket, and my dog and I watched it on the couch. I was sucked in! With some of my favorites like Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, and Dave Bautista, among many others, I was just blown away!
I guess, much like with the original film, when it comes to the new Dune film, I’m not alone!
A new data crunch from USBettingReport.com looked at top Google Trends in the states (& regions) based around Dune: Part 2. With the film opening nationwide in theaters on March 1st, fans in Washington are some of the most excited to ride the sandworms!
Washington ranks #3, just behind Utah and the District of Columbia, for the most pumped to see Dune: Part 2. After Washington, Colorado comes in at #4, and Oregon rounding out the top 5.
