Kennewick School District Bus Delivery Stops Explained
My wife got behind a Kennewick School bus today and it occurred to her that buses are doing more than just sitting idle at the shop without any kids to bus around. Kennewick School buses are delivering food and learning packets and the schedule has now been released.
It was announced that Kennewick School District will also be handing out free meals until December 31st, which is another bonus for the students of the district.
KSD posted these details on their website:
During remote learning, Kennewick School District will be handing out meals each day and learning packets for K-12 students each Monday at designated bus stops.
During the first two weeks of school, packets will be delivered on Tuesdays because there is no school on Mondays. The schedule will begin on the first day of school, Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is extending its free meal program through December to help ensure all children have access to nutritious food as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.
This means that all meals will be free. All children 18 years and younger may receive meals (not just students). Parents and guardians may pick up meals for their children.
The regular bus schedule has been expanded to include new stops in areas where children normally walk to school.

At the bus stops:
