Leg Cramp Nearly Causes Death for Wild Crash Driver, Passengers
A driver is lucky to be alive after a strange van crash Thursday morning.
Benton County Deputies say around 7:15AM on Coats Road near Prosser, this van was headed east. One of the passengers said they were experiencing a leg cramp, and asked the driver to pull over, according to Deputies.
However, instead of hitting the brake, the driver pressed the gas, sending the van careening nearly out of control, hitting the guard rail, then a wooden fence before being partially 'split' by a chain link fence and post.
Deputies say a wooden post speared through the windshield, narrowly missing the driver and one of the two other passengers. No major injuries reported, although the occupants were said to be shaken up according to Deputies.
The accident continues to be investigated.
