Popular Side Dishes to Share at the Barbecue
While this year s not a traditional 4th of July, due to Covid-19, it's still popular for barbecues, and an excuse to consume different sides to compliment the main feature.
Whether you're grilling up chicken, burgers, ribs, or hot dogs, there are many sides your guests will love.
It's also a great time to experiment with different recipes for planning future get-togethers.
According to a recent poll, the most popular sides to share with others include:
coleslaw, potato chips, pasta salad, potato salad, fruit salad, corn on the cob, watermelon, and pigs in a blanket.
Experts say you're sure to be a hit with friends and family by serving the ever-popular side of baked beans. The key to bean success is in your ingredients. And you can experiment with a number of recipes. Some key ingredients to add are bacon, brown sugar, bourbon, onion, molasses, ketchup, and mustard.
Another fan favorite is a display of deviled eggs. You can also discover a plethora of varied egg combinations. Personally, I choose to garnish my eggs with green olives and a sprinkling of paprika.
Deviled eggs are easy to prepare, and can be accomplished with relatively few ingredients. The most basic recipe includes hard-boiled eggs, mustard, mayonnaise, and salt and pepper to taste.
While this year presents different rules for hosting a barbecue, due to the pandemic, the 4th of July or Independence Day is a federal holiday, celebrated since 1941.
