Lou Reed + Green Day Make the Official Class of 2015 for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2015 is official! Lou Reed, Green Day, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Bill Withers, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band will all be inducted next year. Additionally, Ringo Starr will be receiving the Award for Musical Excellence and the ‘5’ Royales will take home the Early Influence Award.
Green Day are obviously the youngest act to be inducted in this class, and it’s interesting to note that this marks Reed’s second time being inducted; in 1996, he joined the Hall of Fame when the Velvet Underground were admitted.
