Stolen Truck Found Abandoned, on Fire North of Pasco
Around 11PM Wednesday night Franklin County Deputies and Fire District 3 crews responded to a report of a vehicle fire.
Nearby residents and drivers on Highway 395 called in the blaze. When crews arrived they found a pickup full engulfed in flames near the intersection of Selph Landing Road and Highway 395, not that far from the County Mercantile.
Deputies say the truck was earlier reported stolen out of Pasco, luckily fire crews were able to prevent the blaze from spreading too far in the dry grass and brush. They didn't saw how long the vehicle had been missing.
Officials have not said yet exactly how the vehicle was set on fire. It seems this has been the M/O for vehicle thieves in Franklin County. A vehicle is reported stolen, then turns up later, on fire or burned out, in the northern part of the county.
