Woman sprints out of the courtroom before sentence handed down

An Othello woman's situation just went from bad to worse. Back on April 1st, 36-year-old Tawni Elisabeth Jahns was found guilty by trial on Trafficking in Stolen Property. She was assigned a sentencing hearing and then released.

She actually showed up for the hearing on April 18th at the Adams County Courthouse in Ritzville, but then fled the courtroom before her sentence could be handed down. This gave Deputies probable cause to carry out an arrest warrant for the would-be sprinter.

The suspect went to the well once too often

On the night of April 23rd, around 8 PM, Deputies saw a Dodge Caravan in the 2100 block of West Cunningham Road. Officers knew it to be Jahn's vehicle, they'd seen her multiple times in the vehicle previously.

The van was pulled over, but the people inside fled. However, Jahns was quickly located nearby, and now additional charges have been added to the ones she fled from earlier this month. Might want to use one of those kiddie leashes this time!
