Teens Busted for Firearm Threat After Leaving Graffiti in Kennewick
A brief lockdown of Kamiakin High School occurred because of this incident.
Large Police presence west of Edison, north of Albertsons
Mid-morning Tuesday, May 3, a swarm of Kennewick Police cruisers descended on a home just north and west of Albertson's Grocery store. The Officers were at a residence near the intersection of West Hood Ave. and North Harrison Place.
According to the KPD, they were responding to a weapons threat that had occurred just prior at a nearby apartment complex. Police did not elaborate but the closest such units are the ones on North Fillmore, just across the street and west of Albertsons.
Teens allegedly pulled gun on person
The teens were allegedly spraying graffiti on one or more of the apartment units when the victim (who was not hurt) confronted them. Police say the person is possibly a worker at the complex.
The teens displayed the weapon before running away from the scene. They were traced to the home where a number of them were found inside and a number were arrested. Because of the heavy police presence just west of Kamiakin High School, right across Edison, the school was briefly locked down just before noon, but that was lifted.
No other information has been released, the investigation continues.
