Reportedly, President Trump has told Vice President Mike Pence to cease reaching out to those whom he deemed "unappreciative" of his administration's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, singling out Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and, multiple times, Washington Governor Jay Inslee. Trump said Pence should not talk to them if they don't "treat you right."

Trump said that Pence “calls all the governors. And I tell him, I’m a different type of person, and I say, ’Mike, don’t call the governor of Washington. you’re wasting your time with him.'”

Over 150 people have died in Washington state since the outbreak began – one of the highest death tolls in the country – and over 3,000 state residents have contracted COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

Pence has repeatedly praised Inslee’s performance as governor during the coronavirus outbreak. The veep visited Washington early in the crisis to thank Inslee for his efforts, and the two have been in close contact ever since.
Earlier this month Trump called Inslee a "snake."
