Two New Kennewick PD Officers Sworn In to Protect and Serve

Two new police officers were sworn in today at KPD headquarters by Chief Ken Hohenberg.

One is a home grown product, a Finley native, the other hails from Florida but has been in the PNW for the past 15 years.

Kennewick Police Department

Officer Dakota Rogers grew up in Finley, WA, where he attended River View High School. Dakota joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 2017 and is currently a field artillery cannoneer. Dakota comes to the Kennewick Police Department via the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, where Rogers was a corrections officer since 2018.

Rogers is married and he and his wife are expecting their first child together soon.

Officer Alyssa Garcilazo was born and raised in Panama City, Florida. She moved to the Pacific Northwest 15 years ago and has spent the last 7 years serving members of the community by helping them with their financial needs.

Kennewick Police Department

She is currently finishing her degree in Criminal Justice. Alyssa is inspired daily by her husband and their two children. In her free time, she enjoys competing in all sports, cooking, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her family.

KPD is excited to have both Dakota and Alyssa joining their team. They are looking forward to continuing to serve the Tri-Cities community as members of the Kennewick Police Department.
