UPDATE—TC Ams Release WHL Schedule, Begins March 18
The Tri City Americans and the Western Hockey League (WHL) released the Americans
schedule, as well as those for the rest of the league.
The Americans will kick off the 2020-21 season at home March 18, Thursday vs. Portland. 7;05PM puck drop with a 6:45PM Pregame.
The 12 home games will be simulcast with SWX TV, with Craig West as the primary announcer. Pete Christensen of Townsquare Media will be the coordinating anchor. The Am's and Newstalk did a number of these very successful simulcasts last full season.
All 12 ROAD GAMES will be carried on Newstalk 870AM FM 98.7 as well.
Play will only be within the U.S. Division, which is also being done with the BC Division, Central and East as well.
Despite the South Central Region (including B-F Counties) moving to Phase 2, It is not firm yet if any fans will be allowed. Aside from players, coaches, broadcasters, refs and other necessary game day personell, there might be a possibility for 80-100 fans-spectators. But again, that is a "possibility." The number of persons allowed in the building does have to include the afore mentioned people.
The U.S. Division games are broken down this way, according to the WHL:
Tuesday – Seven games (11.7%)
Wednesday – Nine games (15.0%)
Thursday – Two games (3.3%)
Friday – 12 games (20.0%)
Saturday – 16 games (26.7%)
Sunday – 14 games (23.3%)
