Vampire Weekend Dazzles at WAMU Theater in Seattle (PHOTOS)
NYC-based rock band Vampire Weekend performed to a nearly sold-out crowd at WAMU Theater in Seattle. It has been over six years since the band made it's way back to the Emerald City -- the last time being at Deck The Hall Ball in 2013, and previously performing at Sasquatch! a few months prior.
The band is currently on tour in support of their latest masterpiece, Father of the Bride which showcases the band moving into a more mature sound (and also their first release on Columbia Records) -- however, still keeping that VW aesthetic that fans still enjoy. It has also been over six years since we last heard any new material from Vampire Weekend. The band also experienced a lineup change with founding member Rostam Batmanglij departing to pursue other endeavors.
However, that hasn't stopped the band's momentum as they upgraded from being a quartet, by adding four new members to expand the band's sound. Lead singer Ezra Koenig dazzled on stage during the band's performance leaving the fans wanting more. Though the Seattle Mariners were playing their last home game next door to WAMU, that didn't scare the fans from not attending that night's performance.
Vampire Weekend showed that even after a six-year break, they still have it.
