Just a little over three years ago Alice In Chains released 'Black Gives Way to Blue', their first album with frontman William DuVall and first since the passing of vocalist Lane Staley. To say it is the band's best work is a bit of an overstatement, but it absolutely quieted a lot of detractors who thought the band died with Staley.

Today, the Seattle based group released the lyric video for their new song 'Hollow' using fan submitted photos from Instagram. A couple weeks ago, the band began posting lyrics from the song to @aliceinchains on Instagram, asking the fans to create an image inspired by or featuring a word or phrase from the lyrics. Not only did this create very fitting and unique visuals for the song, but it's also a creative way to interact with your fans.

To me 'Hollow' sounds like an extension of the last album, which is definitely a good thing. I'm looking forward to hearing more, but that will have to wait until next year as the song won't be available for download until January 8th. For now you can listen to the track at AliceInChains.com or below, via YouTube.
