Richland police had to help a few embarrassed people Sunday afternoon, near the Columbia River boat launch by Snyder Street in North Richland.

It seems a boat got stuck on some rocks, in the shallow area between the Richland shoreline and what's commonly called "Snyder Island."

So, what to do? send in the big truck to help free it. But when the truck itself gets high-centered, then you have a problem. Richland police were able to help dispatch P&K Towing, who were able to extricate the truck, AND the boat.

A number of folks, boaters, who posted on social media said what we Tri-City natives have known for years. That particular area is known for only being a few feet deep and it's easy to get stuck.
