Coming out of the first weekend of the new year, Tri-City Americans GM-Governor Bob Tory announced another trade.

Americans forward Kaden Kohle (Cole) has been traded to the Vancouver Giants, in exchange for a 7th round pick in the 2020 WHL Bantam (entry level) draft, and the Americans will get a talented newcomer.

John Little, in his first WHL campaign with Vancouver will be joining the team in time for this weekend's games vs. Seattle and Regina. Tory said the Am's have been watching him since his BCHL days (the level prior to and below WHL) and they believe he has tremendous upside. From the Americans:

“John is a player we have followed since his draft year,” stated Tory. “He had a tremendous season last year in the BCHL where he put up impressive offensive numbers. We feel that there is untapped offensive upside to his game."

It is believed this trade is an effort to help jump start an offense that over the last month or so has been anemic, the Americans are in the bottom 3rd in the Western Conference in scoring.

Prior to this trade, the Americans sent Goaltender Beck Warm to Edmonton as well as Forward Kyle Olson in exchange for two top prospects and a total of four WHL draft pics. Edmonton is in first place in their division in the Central, and are primed for a Memorial Cup run. Warm was acquired as an 'insurance' policy and to help guide and mentor the Oil Kings 17-year-old 6'5" goaltender.
