Deceased Man Found by Railroad Tracks Near WA-OR Border
The investigation is still underway into a dead man found by the railroad tracks near the Oregon border.
BENTON COUNTY DEPUTIES SCOURING AREA NEAR UNDERPASS
Tuesday, Benton County Deputies were searching the railroad underpass that goes below I-82, just south of the intersection with Highway 14 on the Washington side of the Columbia River.
The location is just north of the border.
Authorities say they got a report of the body, and at this time think the deceased man may have been hopping, or traveling, on the train.
Based upon information given by officials, it's presumed the train was long gone from the area when the body was discovered.
Deputies have not said if the man fell off and died, or what his cause of death was. Some observers have wondered if he fell or jumped from the overpass, they say this because the location of the body was reportedly "near" the railroad tracks, but not on them.
More information will hopefully be released soon.
