Dimebag Darrell And John Lennon’s Death Remembered On Dec 8th

Darrell Lance Abbott, guitar player for Pantera and Damage Plan was killed on Dec 8th, 2004. It is ironic that John Lennon from the Beatles was also killed on Dec. 8th, 1980. They were both murdered by crazy fans. Dimebags because the murderer thought he broke up Pantera and Lennon's murderer wanted him dead because he said that the Beatles are bigger than Jesus Christ. He was apparently reborn or something.They both were completely different in their respective bands. I got to meet Dimebag in Casper Wyoming during an amazing performance of Pantera and Slayer. It was one of the more fun times that I have had at a concert and I was in aw when I met the entire band.

At first I thought they would be crazy phys-co metal heads that worshiped the devil or something. That couldn't be further from the truth. Every single one of them greeted us like they have known all of us for 50 years or that we were their actual family. It was the best Meet & Greet that I have had with the band. Dimebag was the nicest guy and couldn't wait to get on stage and play his heart out, which he did.

I was still in elementary school when John Lennon was shot so I never go the pleasure to meet him. But, anyone that can write a song called 'Imagine' has to be one of the nicest guys in the world!

God rest you Dimebag and John Lennon. No one will ever forget either one of you!
