Driver Injured, Dog Crushed in Richland Semi Rollover Crash
A semi driver escaped serious injury but will be cited for driving too fast for conditions after a crash near Richland Friday, which also crushed and killed a French Bulldog.
Trooper Chris Thorson of the Washington State Patrol says the large semi was traveling the on-ramp from I-182 West onto I-82 East when it rolled, ejecting two dogs and injuring the driver. Excessive speed caused the rollover said Thorson.
Thorson says the driver suffered minor injuries, but one of his pets, the bulldog, was "crushed" by the rolling truck and died instantly. A second dog was confirmed to have survived the crash, but Thorson says the dog is now missing.
The crash occurred around 12:30PM Friday afternoon. The driver's identity was not released.
