Forget Poor, “Hazardous Air” To Stay Through Thursday?
Monday morning, the National Weather Service released this Air Quality statement:
"...AIR QUALITY ALERT REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON PDT THURSDAY... The Washington State Department of Ecology has issued an Air Quality Alert...in effect until noon PDT Thursday for the following counties in central, south central and southeast Washington: Benton Columbia Franklin Kittitas Klickitat Walla Walla Yakima Unhealthy air will be common at times across central, south central and southeastern Washington due to the large wildfires currently burning around the region. Smoke from ongoing fires in northern Washington and British Columbia will continue to move across the area." Local and regional weather officials say if our prevailing winds will shift back to more normal conditions It will greatly help our air quality. Until that happens, we're stuck.
