Grenade Found in Hermiston Brings Out Oregon State Police Bomb Squad

When Hermiston police searched the apartment of a 20-year-old man arrested for vandalism they found a hand grenade.

The man also had an illegal knife (I don't have a photo, but I'd love to see what an illegal knife looks like) and is now charged as a felon in possession of a weapon.

The Oregon State Police Bomb Squad was called in for the grenade. As it turns out, he was NOT charged for possession of it because it wasn't real. One big false call.

But if a felon is caught vandalising property and in possession of a dangerous knife, the police can't be too careful, right?
