It’s Fall, Drive Careful in Tri City Fog–Serious Pasco Crash Hurts 4
It's that time of year, when October-into-November brings late night and early morning fog to the Columbia Basin. It also means drive very carefully, and turn on your lights!
Pasco Police assisted with a serious car vs. semi crash early Friday morning on the Pasco-Kahlotus Highway near Venture Road. A car collided with a semi-truck sending four people to area hospitals, one of them with possibly life threatening injuries.
Police of all jurisdictions urge drivers to use their headlights and be careful in the fog. It's most prevalent in the late night and early morning hours. It can be very thick, and come up fast. It occurs because this time of year, we drop into the 30's at night, even freezing, then back into upper 50's and low 60's creating nighttime conditions 'perfect' for ground fog.
Driving conditions are even more challenging in outlying areas where there's a lot less 'city' light and the fog is usually more dense. Be careful!
