Larissa Leon of Sunnyside Competes for Top Honors with Duck Tape
Everyone's got a hobby and Larissa's passion for Duck Tape began around 2013 when all those bright colors and patterns started to show-up. She created purses, a mermaid tail that actually went in the pool, wallets and more. She also was patiently waiting for the time she would be eligible to compete in Duck Tapes #stuckatprom competition. The time has arrived and holy moly did this girl show off her skills.
Larissa Leon of Sunnyside High School in Sunnyside, Washington has created a traditional dress, made entirely of duck tape! The first time she put it on she said, "it took about an hour!" Now she's worn it probably seven different times and it's getting easier to figure out but don't be fooled by the detail. Every part from the duck tape lace trim to the crisscross back and beautiful flowers in her hair and earrings are duck tape! Once she's in the dress she needs to be duck taped in to secure the weight but dang girl! Off the shoulder and still holding?
47 rolls of duck tape, 163 hours spent in the living room creating and now she has not only successfully entered but is part of the top five female finalists. She would LOVE help spreading the word and voting. We can all vote once a day from now until Wednesday, July 14th 2021 CLICK HERE to vote for her and fingers crossed this talented lady not only wins but continues to create gorgeous pieces out of duck tape. If there was a museum for this stuff, this dress should definitely be a part of it!
