‘New’ Business Occupies Old Money Laundering Location in Kennewick
Last week we reported about the two Kennewick businesses that were fronts for a drug operation.
Benton City Man Convicted of Drug Operations.
The man, 47-year-old Julio Leal Parra, will spend many years in jail, after his two businesses, Perfect Design Upholstery and SuKarne (a meat market), were found to be fronts for storing drugs and money laundering. Federal officials said he had direct contacts and dealings with a major cartel in Mexico.
SuKarne has since been repurposed and has taken on new life at 402 North Ely Suite B, as helados la Michoacana, a Mexican restaurant and ice cream shop. It's the second location for the company, they have one in Pasco as well.
The business occupies part of the building next to Boost Mobile Wireless.
However, a search of the other property, Perfect Design Upholstery located at 6729 West Clearwater, shows no new activity at that building. A Yelp check shows that the domain or business name is unclaimed.
