New Ghost Video Pays Homage to Stephen King’s ‘The Shining’
Ghost has struck with their creative theatrics once again in the brand new seventh chapter of their video series. The episode, titled "New World Redro," pays homage to horror icon Stephen's King's The Shining.
The references to the story are visible before the video is even played - the description of the YouTube video reads, "[MESSAGE FROM THE CLERGY] We wish to inform you all work and no play makes Papa..."
A dull...ghoul?
In the new video, Cardinal Copia is seen riding a tricycle through the halls of what appears to be an enormous mausoleum, while Papa Nihil is using a typewriter and saying his thoughts aloud. When he looks at the paper, he is surprised to see that it doesn't say what he thought he had written.
Cardinal eventually turns a corner to find a pair of creepy twins at the end of the hallway. Watch the new episode below.
Frontman Tobias Forge told Revolver last month that he plans to eventually make a full-length film. "If it wasn't for the fact that I ended up finally being a musician, the one thing I really, really want to do in my life is cinema," he says. "Any chance I can have to do that, I'm definitely grabbing it."
Until then, we can see Cardinal Copia in the band's video series, on tour and on their next album, which is expected to be released in 2020.
Ghost are currently on tour with Metallica in Europe. Their U.S. run with Nothing More, dubbed The Ultimate Tour Named Death, kicks off in September. See the dates here.
