Ozzy + Sharon Osbourne Reportedly Leaving Los Angeles Due to High Taxes
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have apparently had enough of Los Angeles' high taxes, and will be returning to the U.K. The Prince of Darkness reportedly shared the news of their plans with the Mirror.
"We are leaving L.A. We are a bit sad. But the tax is getting too much. I am sad because I really really like staying and living there," the rocker said. "If they do the taxes better then I may come back. I do not know."
Avalara notes that the minimum combined sales tax rate value in Los Angeles is currently nine-and-a-half percent.
The couple intend to move into their Welders House home in Buckinghamshire, England, where Osbourne plans to build a recording studio in a barn so that he can still make music and work with his band.
"I am taking my recording studio with me. I am going to build a barn there and make my own studio at Welders. I will still be making music and my band will come over," he explained.
The pair purchased the Welders House in 1993 from special effects icon John Stears. In 2014, they had to flee the house due to flooding that had affected the area, according to Daily Mail. It sustained 300,000 euros worth of damage as a result.
While we don't have a confirmed release date for the follow-up to 2020's Ordinary Man, we know that Osbourne had an all-star lineup of collaborators for the project. He once again worked with producer Andrew Watt, and this time around, Zakk Wylde plays guitar throughout the entirety of the record. Tony Iommi, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck made guitar contributions as well.
