The Tri-City Americans Hockey Club saw their season end on Toyota Center ice with a 6-5 OT loss in Game 6 of the WHL Western Conference Championship.

The Americans lost every home game to Everett as the Silvertips remain perfect on the road in the WHL 2018 playoffs.

Everett next plays the Swift Current Broncos for the right to advance to the Memorial Cup.

It was the Americans' 14th playoff game in 2018 and the first that went to overtime.

Dylan Coghlan was whistled for a rare two minute tripping penalty that gave Everett an OT power play and they made the Americans pay.

Jordan Topping's breakaway at 8:52 of the 3rd period gave the Ams a 5-2 lead, but Everett kept chipping away and chipping away scoring three unanswered goals in about 5 minutes sending the game eventually to overtime.

The Americans were hoping to play a game in the month May for the first time since 2010 when the Americans appeared in the WHL Finals against Calgary losing in 5 games to the Hitmen that year.
