UPDATE–Arrest Made in Kennewick Juvenile Shooting
It didn't take long for Police to locate suspect.
SUSPECT ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH JUVENILE SHOOTING
Tuesday, 11-30, Police responded to a report of a 16-year-old boy who'd been shot in front of a home in the 400 Block of South Conway Place in Kennewick. The location is across from Westgate Elementary.
The boy was not seriously hurt but required treatment at an area hospital. He was shot in the "lower extremities" said Police, but is recovering.
Now a suspect is in custody.
POLICE APPREHEND SHOOTER IN LESS THAN A DAY
Kennewick Police released this statement:
"On 12-1-2021, this investigation continued and probable cause was developed to arrest a 16 year of age juvenile male for Assault in the 2nd Degree. At approximately 1030 hours, the juvenile male was located at a residence in the 500 block of S Hawthorne St. Multiple Kennewick Detectives and Officers contacted the juvenile male and he was taken into custody without incident. The juvenile male has been booked into the Benton-Franklin Counties Juvenile Justice Center for Assault in the 2nd Degree. The victim in this case remains in stable condition at an area hospital."
The investigation continues. Police said they believe the victim and shooter knew each other but no word if gang-related.
