Walla Walla Cops Engage in “Dukes of Hazard” Style Car Chase
Bo and Luke Duke got nothing on these guys! Walla Walla man, Walter Keith Walker, was arrested on several warrants including everything from gross misdemeanors to felony drug charges! Walker was recognized while driving on Maple Street in Waitsburg at about 8:50 a.m Tuesday morning by Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Kristen Daschofsky. When Daschofsky tried to stop Walker, he sped off 'Dukes of Hazzard-style' in a pursuit that covered 26.8 miles and reached speeds up to 100 mph!
When Daschofsky tried to stop Walker, he sped off and a multi-agency pursuit ensued that covering 26.8 miles and reached speeds up to 100 mph. The chase headed west from Waitsburg on U.S. Highway 12, then came back into Walla Walla via Old Highway 12 and Heritage Road.
At one point Walker called 911 and asked the emergency dispatcher to tell pursuing officers to slow down. Martin said Walker finally stopped at Zip Zone, 110 S. Ninth Ave., and was taken into custody without incident.
And in true Duke style, Walker had a guy sitting shotgun. Donovan Scott Bray was taken into custody as well on investigation of three misdemeanors! Guess they don't have the luck of the Duke boys since they got caught! Bail was set at $15,000 today for Walker, and both Walker and Bray remain in the Walla Walla County Jail. Not sure if there were any General Lee-type jumps going on, but there was definitely a chase! Wonder what Uncle Jesse thinks of all this!
