Zakk Wylde to Host Sports Talk Radio Show
Zakk Wylde, founder of Black Label Society, will host a new weekly sports talk series on SiriusXM. ‘Wylde on Sports’ will debut Sept. 4 and air every Tuesday for six weeks on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio. The co-host will be Ken Thomson, Wylde’s brother-in-law and a veteran sports talk host.
“I’m excited to join my brother-in-law Ken Thomson every Tuesday night on SiriusXM to recap all of the awesome NFL action, and to find out what in the Wylde world of sports is going on,” says Wylde. “We’ll be hosting an amazing cast of characters from the worlds of sports, music, movies, television and your local bowling alley as we get Wylde on Sports! Yay! Go Team!”
Since the show is on the fantasy sports channel during football season, obviously a big part of the show will be fantasy football. Wylde will also be joined on the show by celebrities and musicians. Wylde recently participated in the annual SiriusXM Celebrity Fantasy Football Draft, held in New York’s City’s Times Square. He’ll compete this season in a league that also includes teams managed by Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew, comedians Artie Lange and Nick DiPaolo, WWE star Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, actor George Wendt and others.
But as Wylde tells ESPN.com, the show will be more than just one topic. “Between my wrestling buddies, my athlete buddies, my actor buddies or musician/rock star insane brothers over there, it’s going to be a ton of comedy, I can tell you that right now. It’s going to be ‘Animal House’ on sports, pretty much. The alcohol won’t be there, but the stupidity will be flying at an all-time-high rate.”
As far as what Black Label Society is up to, Loudwire spoke with Wylde at that celebrity fantasy football draft. “We’re doing ‘Unblackened,’ the unplugged DVD and record. We’re throwing strings and piano into the mix, pedal steel, the whole nine yards, but it’ll still be electric, too. The whole nine yards.” Read more from our interview with Zakk by clicking below:
