A Richland High Student is in a lot of hot water for flashing images of porn during a recent distant learning class over Zoom.

The incident happened at the end of March and there are few details about it according to a report filed by KEPR-TV.

It does appear a student during a distant learning class flashed images of porn through the app "Zoom" during a German class while several Richland and Hanford High students were on the call. It appears to be a prank gone wrong.

Richland School District released this statement concerning the incident:

School administrators were informed of and addressed the incident, which involved a student displaying inappropriate content. The district has taken steps to prevent similar incidents in the future, including training for staff on how to set up their Zoom meetings with students to limit opportunities for disruption and inappropriate behavior.

The incident has been resolved according to the School District but it's another social media warning to beware of during this time of distant learning and shutdown that programs and apps can be easily hacked even as a prank.
