Authorities have not yet released a cause of death.
Man serving life for murder in Walla Walla found dead
Washington State Penitentiary Officials Tuesday released the ID of the inmate found dead Sunday afternoon in a shower area.
Dayva Cross, age not listed, was discovered shortly after 1 PM on Sunday. According to the Walla Walla County Police Dept. and other law enforcement agencies, prison workers attempted to revive him, as did Walla Walla EMS and Police.
Man was originally on Death Row
No word yet on the cause of death. Cross was serving a life term for the murder of his wife and two stepdaughters out of King County in March 1999. He'd been on Death Row but that sentence was converted to life after the State Supreme Court followed the lead of the legislature and ruled capital punishment was unconstitutional.
Walla Walla Police detectives are leading the investigation, no other information has been released.
